Ingredients:

• 2.5 kg – raw, large mangoes
• 1.5 kg – Sugar
• 3 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1 tsp – salt
• 15 – Cloves
• 3 sticks – Cinnamon

Method:

  1. Peel the mangoes and grate them. Discard the seeds.
  2. Cook the mango and sugar together.
  3. Add chilli powder and salt when half cooked.
  4. Towards the end, add the cloves and cinnamon.
  5. Let the mixture simmer for a little while and let it cool.
  6. Store the chutney in a jar.
