Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Toor Dal (washed and soaked for 1 – 2 hours in hot water)
• 1 cup – Spinach leaves, chopped
• 1 – tomato, finely chopped
• 1 – onion, finely chopped
• 1/2 tsp – Ginger – Garlic paste
• 1 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – coriander powder
• 2 tbsp – Lime juice
• 2 tbsp – oil
• 1/2 tsp – Jeera
• a pinch of Hing (asafetida)
• 2 – green chillies, finely chopped
• Salt to taste
Method:
- Cook toor dal until is 3/4 cooked.
- Then add spinach leaves, onion, tomato, salt, turmeric powder, ginger – garlic paste and hing.
- Cook everything until done.
- In a frying pan, heat oil and add all the remaining ingredients (except lime juice) and pour it over the cooked dal.
- Next, add the lime juice and mix it well.
- Serve hot with chapattis or rice.
