Ingredients:

• Raw Rice – 2 cup
• Bengal Gram (Channa dal) – 1/2 cup
• Black gram (Urad dal) – 1/2 cup
• Red gram (Toor dal) – 1/2 cup
• Red Chillies – 4 to 5
• Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
• Green chillies – 2, finely chopped
• Coriander leaves – 2 tbsp, chopped
• Grated Coconut – 1/2 cup
• Salt to taste
• Oil

Method:

  1. Wash and soak the rice and all the dals together in water for 4 hrs.
  2. Grind to a slightly coarse, thick paste with red chillies.
  3. Add turmeric powder, green chillies, coriander leaves and grated coconuts.
  4. Heat a thick tawa. Pour 1/2 cup of batter and spread to about 1/8″ thickness.
  5. Pour some oil all round. Increase the heat and cook till the underside is brown.
  6. Turn over and cook the other side.
  7. Serve with avial, sambar or butter and jaggery
