
Ingredients:
• 1 cup tur dhal
• 2 cups of water
• 1 Onion chopped
• 2 tsp chilli powder
• 1 large Tomato chopped
• 1 tsp cumin powder
• 1 tsp pepper powder
• 1 tbsp Garlic paste
• 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp coriander powder
• 1/2 cup Tamarind juice extracted from a small ball of Tamarind or
• 2 tsp Tamarind paste
• Salt
Method:
- Cook the tur dhal with 2 cups of water till the dhal is cooked.
- Add the chilli powder, tomato, cumin powder, pepper powder, garlic paste, turmeric powder, coriander powder, tamarind juice, salt and some more water to the cooked dhal and bring to boil.
- Cook on low heat for a few more minutes.
- Season with mustard seeds, curry leaves and crushed garlic.
