
Ingredients:
• 2 cups – plain flour
• 1 cup – castor Sugar
• 125 g – Butter
• 1 – small Egg
• 1/2 tsp – bicarbonate of soda
• 1 tsp – Cinnamon
• 1 pinch – salt
• 2 tsp – ground Ginger
• 1 tsp – golden syrup
Method:
- Sift flour, sugar, soda, cinnamon, salt and ginger in a basin.
- Rub it in butter until the mixture gets fine consistent crumbs.
- Beat egg with golden syrup and add it to the dry ingredients.
- Work up a firm dough with hand.
- Roll it into small balls and place on a lightly greased oven trays about 5 cm (2 inch) apart.
- Bake it on a moderately low oven, heat for 15 minutes.
- Cool it on a tray.
