Ingredients:
• 1.5 cups – diced crust of bread
• 1/2 pint – Milk
• 1 Egg (beaten)
• 1 tbsp. – seedless Raisins
• 2 tbsp. – Sugar
• vanilla essence
• custard sauce
• Ingredients for the custard sauce:
• 2 eggs
• 1/2 pint Milk
• 1 dessert spoon Sugar
• A few drops of vanilla essence
Method:
- Combine milk, egg, sugar and few drops of vanilla essence.
- Place the bread and raisins in a basin and pour in the milk mixture.
- Cover with a cloth and steam for 1.5 hours.
- Serve with custard sauce.
- For custard sauce:
- Boil the milk. Beat eggs and sugar together and pour the boiling milk over the mixture, stirring all the time.
- Return to the saucepan and stir until the mixture thickens. Serve.
