Ingredients:

• Yam (chenai) – 1 bit
• Sweet Potato – 1
• Snake gourd -1 bit
• Plantain – 1 bit
• Water gourd (poosani) – 1 bit
• Beans (Avaraikkai) – a little
• Colocasia (arbi) – 5
• Pumpkin – 1 bit
• Chinese beans (kothavarai) – a little
• Eggplant – 2
• Okra a little
• Capsicum – 2
• Any green vegetables
• 1/2 cup – Coconut grated
• a small ball Tamarind – soaked
• To grind:
• Toor dhal – 2 tsp
• Urud dhal – 2 tsp
• Chana dhal – 2 tsp
• Sesame seeds – 1 tsp
• Rice – 1 tsp
• Red Chillies – 1 tsp

Method:

  1. Dry roast the 6 ingredients to grind, and grind to a powder with the coconut.
  2. Add tamarind water and a little turmeric and salt into a vessel and cook the vegetables.
  3. Once cooked, add the ground paste and boil.
  4. Season with mustard and curry leaves.
  5. Serve with dosai, chapatti and pongal.
