Ingredients:

• 2 cups – mixed beans (any type, soaked)
• 1 – Raw banana
• 1 – Onion (finely chopped)
• 1/2 tsp – Garam Masala powder
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 3/4 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 3 – bread slices
• salt to taste
• oil as needed
• 2 tbsp – Coriander leaves (chopped)

Method:

  1. Pressure-cook the mixed beans with salt and water (up to 3 hisses) and keep aside.
  2. Peel the skin and cut the raw banana into large pieces. Pressure-cook (up to 3 hisses).
  3. Drain the excess of water from the cooked beans.
  4. Mash the cooked beans and cooked raw banana nicely with your fingers into a coarse paste.
  5. Heat a few drops of oil and saute the chopped onions with garam masala powder, turmeric powder, salt and red chilli powder.
  6. Add the onion-spice mixture to the beans-banana paste.
  7. Soak the bread slices in water, then squeeze out the excess of water.
  8. Add the squeezed bread slices and coriander leaves to the beans-raw banana paste. Mix well.
  9. Prepare small balls from the paste and flatten them with your palms into any desired shape.
  10. Heat oil and fry the cutlets golden brown.
  11. Serve with chutney or ketchup.
