Ingredients:

• Paneer – 75 gm, cut into very tiny pieces
• Rice flour – 2 to 3 tbsp
• Chana (black gram) Dal – 1 cup
• chilli powder – 1 tsp
• Onion – 1 cup, minced
• Coriander leaves – 1/2 cup, minced
• Curry leaves few, finely chopped
• oil to fry
• salt to taste

Method:

  1. Soak dal in water for 2 hours.
  2. Drain and grind to a stiff coarse paste.
  3. Mix in rest of the ingredients except oil.
  4. Take lime sized balls of this mixture and flatten to a discs, one and a half cm thick.
  5. Deep-fry few at a time in moderately hot oil till golden brown.
  6. Serve hot with coconut chutney.
