Ingredients:
• 1.5 cups – Milk
• 250 g – Maida
• 2-3 tbsp – condensed Milk
• 1 – Egg
• 1 tbsp – Butter
• 2 tsp – dried Yeast
• a pinch of salt
• 2 tbsp – jam
• For coating: 50 g – powdered Sugar
• 1.5 tsp – Cinnamon powder
Method:
- Mix 2-3 tbsp of condensed milk and milk together. Warm over a pan of hot water.
- Blend in the yeast and 2 tbsp of maida. Leave at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes to ferment.
- Mix salt and the remaining maida together.
- Add to the fermented yeast mixture along with the beaten egg and melted butter. Mix well.
- Knead the dough well on a lightly floured table and divide into 12 equal rounds.
- Cover each with a greased polythene sheet and leave to rise for about 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Remove the polythene. Make a hole in the middle of each round. Fill in 1.5 tsp of jam and pinch into shape again.
- Deep-fry in medium hot fat.
- Drain on absorbent paper. Roll in sugar and cinnamon mixture and serve.
