Ingredients:

• Oats – 1/2 cup
• Rava – 1/2 cup
• Sugar – 1 cup
• Water – 3 cups
• Cardamom – 1
• Ghee – 2 tbsp
• Orange food colour – a pinch
• Dates – 20
• Besan – 1 cup
• Rice flour – 1/4 cup
• Chilli powder – 1 tsp
• Salt – 1 tsp
• Water – a little
• Oil – for frying

Method:

  1. Powder the oats coarsely.
  2. Boil water in a pan and add rava, oats, and sugar to the pan and mix well.
  3. Add the food colour and keep stirring until it becomes thick.
  4. Finally add ghee and cardamom powder and mix well to make oats kesari and keep it aside.
  5. To make oats and dates bajji:
  6. Slit the dates neatly and remove the seed.
  7. Stuff 1 tsp kesari inside the dates.
  8. Mix besan, rice flour, chilli powder and salt with adequate water and dip the stuffed dates until it is well coated.
  9. Deep fry in hot oil until golden brown.
