
Ingredients:
• Red gram (toor) dal – 1 cup
• Green unripe Mango pieces – 1 cup
• Oil – 2 tbsp
• Mustard – 1 tsp
• Fenugreek – 1/2 tsp
• Curry leaves – few
• Green chillies – 8 to 10 or to taste
• Onion – 1 small, chopped
• Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
• Asafoetida – little
• Salt – to taste
• Sugar – little, optional
• Coriander leaves – to garnish
Method:
- Cook dal till soft.
- Chop mango into small pieces.
- Heat oil, season with mustard, fenugreek, asafoetida and curry leaves.
- Add onion and chopped green chillies and fry till light brown.
- Add turmeric, mango pieces and 1-1.5 cup of water.
- Cook till mango is soft.
- Add dal, salt and simmer for few minutes.
- Garnish generously with coriander leaves.
