Ingredients:

• 500 g – small Prawns
• 1 cup – chopped Cabbage
• 2 cups – chopped Carrot
• 1/2 cup – chopped Onion
• 3 – Green chillies , chopped finely
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tbsp – fish masala powder
• 4 tbsp – Corn flour
• 1 tbsp – chopped Coriander leaves
• Salt, to taste
• 1 cup – bread crumbs
• Oil, for deep fry
• Ingredients for gravy :
• 2 cups – chopped Onion
• 1/2 cup – Tomato puree
• 2 tbsp – Tomato ketchup
• 1 – large potato, diced into medium sized cubes
• 1 tbsp – Ginger paste
• 1 – Bay Leaf
• 1 inch stick – Cinnamon
• 2 – Cardamom
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – cumin powder
• Salt , to taste
• Ghee/oil, as required

Method:

  1. Boil prawns and mince.
  2. Add the chopped vegetables, turmeric powder, fish masala, coriander leaves and corn flower and knead into a dough.
  3. Form round balls with this dough, roll on the bread crumbs and deep fry the kofta balls in hot oil.
  4. To make the curry, fry the potato cubes.
  5. In a pan, heat oil and add bay leaf, cinnamon and cardamom.
  6. Add ginger paste, onion, tomato puree, tomato ketchup, turmeric and cumin powder and fry till fragrant.
  7. Add water, fried potatoes and salt and cook till the potatoes get the desired consistency.
  8. Add the kofta balls a minute or two before removing from the heat.
  9. Serve hot with rotis or rice.
