
Ingredients:
• Soya granules – 1/3 cup
• Oil – 1 tbsp
• Onion – 1/2 cup, minced
• Ginger – 1/2 tsp, minced
• Garlic – 1/2 tsp, minced
• Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
• Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
• Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp
• Tomato – 1/2 cup, chopped
• Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp, chopped
• Idli batter – 3 to 4 cups
• salt to taste
Method:
- Soak soya granules in hot water for 15 mins.
- Drain and squeeze out all the water.
- Heat the oil in pan. Fry onion, ginger and garlic till soft.
- Add all the turmeric, chilli and coriander masala and fry.
- Add tomato and 2 tbsp of water. Simmer till the tomatoes are pulpy and the masala is cooked.
- Add soya granules, salt and coriander leaves. Mix well, remove from fire and let it cool for 15-20 mins.
- Grease the idli moulds and pour some idli batter over them. Place some soya filling over the batter.
- Cover the filling with more batter and steam for 15 mins.
- Serve hot with chutney.
