Ingredients:

• 1 cup – Basmati Rice (washed)
• 1.5 cup – sprouted moong (green beans)
• 2 medium sized – tomatoes, finely chopped
• 1.5 cup – warm water
• 2 – Bay Leaves
• 1 stick – Cinnamon
• 4 Cloves
• 2 Cardamom pods
• 8 – 10 Cashew nuts
• 6 – 8 Curry leaves
• 0.5 tsp – Jeera
• 1 tsp – Garam Masala
• 1 tsp – p Goda Masala ( Marathi Kala Masala)
• 1 tsp – Sambhar / Rasam powder
• 1 tbsp – each of oil & Ghee
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Wash the basmati rice and keep aside. Heat the oil and ghee in the pressure pan.
  2. Fry the whole masalas, cashewnuts and curry leaves. Add finely chopped tomatoes to it.
  3. Then add all the powdered masalas and cook till oil separates.
  4. Add the sprouted beans, rice, water and salt to taste.
  5. Close the lid of the pressure pan. The rice will be ready within 8 – 10 minutes.
  6. Serve hot with ghee, raitha and papad.
