
Ingredients:
• 6 – Egg whites
• 2 cups – Castor Sugar
• 1 cup – Chocolate pieces
• 1 tsp – Cream of tartar
• 1 tsp – Vanilla
• 2 cups – Cream
• Half basic recipe of vanilla icecream
Method:
- Beat egg white with cream of tartar an a pinch of salt until stiff, add sugar gradually beating well until stiff peaks are formed, add vanilla.
- Make 2 x 9″ round on a lightly greased baking pan, and bake in a very slow oven until dry.
- Mix chocolate pieces with vanilla ice cream.
- Put one round of meringue on a platter and spoon ice cream over it, put the other round of meringue over it, press a little.
- Whip cream with 2 tsp. castor sugar and 1/2 tsp. vanilla, and frost the side of the meringue with it; pipe some stars in a ring on a edge of the meringue. Freeze until serving time.
- Just before serving, pour 1/2 cup chocolate sauce in the centre.
- Sprinkle some grated chocolate over the cream border.
