
Ingredients:
• 25 Arvi leaves (Colocasia leaves).
• 1 cup- rice.
• 1 tbsp- Black Gram dal.
• 1 tsp- Channa dal.
• 1/2- Coconut.
• 15 Red Chillies.
• 1 tsp- Coriander seeds.
• 1/2 tsp- Cumin seeds.
• 1/4 tsp- Turmeric.
• 2 tsp- Sugar.
• Gooseberry sized Tamarind.
• Salt to taste.
Method:
- Soak rice, black gram dal and channa dal together for 2 hours. Grind coconut, red chillies, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, turmeric, sugar, salt, tamarind together to a fine paste with little water.
- Add soaked rice and dal mixture to the above paste and grind coarsely. The batter should be thick.
- Remove thick veins and wash the arvi leaves.
- Place biggest leaf on a paper or working surface with the stem side up. Take some batter in hand and spread on leaf (not too thick).
- Keep second leaf on top and spread the batter. Prepare in the same manner for 1 or 2 more leaves.
- Then fold on sides to the middle of the vein and roll like Swiss roll. Similarly prepare rolls with all the leaves.
- In the meantime heat water in pressure cooker and steam these rolls immediately for 30 mins with weight.
- It can be served along with butter.
