
Ingredients:
• 4 – eggs
• Water – as required
• 1 tsp – salt
• 2 tbsp – tea leaves
• 2 – Star anise
Method:
- Boil the eggs in water, for 10 minutes. Let it cool.
- Drain the water and wipe dry the eggs with a cloth.
- Tap the eggs lightly with the back of a spoon to make even designs on the shell. Do not peel the shells off.
- Take enough water in a pan to cover the eggs.
- Put the tea leaves, salt and star anise into the water. Bring it to a boil.
- Carefully, place the eggs into the boiling water. Reduce the heat to low.
- Let it simmer for 1/2 an hour.
- Switch off the heat. Leave the eggs in the same liquid for an hour.
- Let it cool. Take the eggs off the water and peel off the shell.
- Your marbled tea eggs are ready to be presented. The eggs taste just like, the normally boiled eggs.
