
Ingredients:
• Karela – 1 (large) piece
• Drumsticks – 3 long pieces
• Parval – 4
• Potato – 1 (large)piece
• French beans – 1/2 cup, chopped
• Brinjal – 1 (small) piece
• Raw banana (optional) – 1 piece
• Sesame seeds- 1 tsp
• Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
• Dry mirchi – 2
• Sugar – 1 tsp
• Milk – 2 tsp
• Paanch phoran – 1/2 tsp
• Ghee – 2 tsp
• Paste of Mustard Seeds powder – 1 tbsp
• Salt to taste.
Method:
- Chop all the vegetables, except karela, into medium pieces. Cut the karela into rings.
- Heat 2-3 tbsp oil in a pan and deep-fry the karela pieces. Keep aside.
- Now, heat some more oil in the pan and splutter the panch phoran, mustard seeds, dry mirch.
- Add all the vegetables, except the fried karela, and saute for 5-7 mins.
- Add salt and sugar and pour enough water to cover the vegetables.
- Cover the pan and cook until tender.
- Add the fried karela pieces, milk and mustard seeds paste.
- Let it cook for 2-3 mins and add ghee.
- Stir well and serve hot with rice.
