Ingredients:

• Tiny pieces of bread crust – 1 cup
• Besan (chickpeas flour) – 6 tbsp
• Rice flour – 2 tbsp
• Butter – 2 tbsp
• Chilli powder – 1 tsp
• Thymol (ajwain) seeds – 1/2 tsp
• Curry leaves – 2 tsp, minced
• Onion – 1/2 cup, minced
• Oil to deep fry
• Salt to taste

Method:

  1. Mix all the ingredients together except the oil. Add enough water to form a thick paste.
  2. Heat oil for deep frying.
  3. With moist fingers, pick up tiny lumps of the bread mixture and drop in moderately hot oil.
  4. Fry till the pakodis are golden brown.
  5. Serve hot with ketchup.
