Ingredients:

• 6 big slices day old bread (white, plain or brown)
• 3 green chillies, halved
• 1 tsp- coriander leaves, finely chopped
• 1 stalk Curry leaves
• 1/2 Lemon juice extracted
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1/4 tsp- Red Chilli powder
• 2 pinches Asafoetida powder
• 1/2 tsp- salt
• 1/2 tsp- each mustard & Cumin seeds
• 2 tbsp- oil

Method:

  1. Crumble bread slices coarsely, including crusty edges.
  2. Sprinkle chilli powder, turmeric, salt over crumbs, mix, keep aside.
  3. Heat oil in a large heavy pan, add seeds allow to splutter.
  4. Add asafoetida, chillies and curry leaves. Stir once.
  5. Add bread crumbs, lemon juice, and mix well.
  6. Garnish with chopped coriander.
  7. Serve hot or cool a bit and pack in foil as a carry along.
