Ingredients:
• 1 – Apple (Cut in to pieces)
• 2 Cups – Buttermilk
• 2 tsp – Channa Dhal
• 2 tsp – Toor Dhal
• 2 tsp – Coconut
• 2 – Green chilli
• 2 – Red Chilli
• 1 Inch piece – Ginger
• 1 tsp – Asafoetida
• 2 tsp – Cumin
• 2 tsp – Coriander seeds
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – Mustard
• 5 tsp – Oil
• Salt – as needed
• Curry Leaf Small qty
Method:
- Add turmeric powder and salt to butter milk. Keep aside.
- In a pan, add 3 tsp of oil and add asafoetida, thoor dhal, channa dhal, cumin, coriander, red chillies, green chillies, ginger and coconut.
- Fry well and now transfer to mixie container. Add a little water and allow the contents to be soaked. Keep it as such for at least 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, add 1 tsp of oil to the pan and then add apple pieces. Fry for few minutes.
- Now, add water and cook the apple. Once cooked, keep aside.
- Now, grind the soaked contents to a fine paste.
- Mix this paste to the butter milk.
- Add the cooked apple.
- Now, in a pan heat oil. Pop mustard and then add curry leaf.
- Add the buttermilk to the pan and allow it to boil. (Don’t over boil. Just a few minutes is enough)
- Serve hot with Rice.
