Ingredients:
• Rice – 1 cup
• Toor Dal – 1 cup
• Tomato – 1, diced
• Onion – 1, diced
• Garlic – 5 big pieces, diced
• Carrot and Potato – 1 each, diced
• Dried red chilli – 2
• Red chill powder – to taste
• Mustard Seeds – 1/4 tsp
• Cumin -1 tsp
• Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
• Salt – to taste
• Curry leaves – a few
• Oil – 1 tbsp
Method:
- Heat oil in a cooker.
- Allow mustard to splutter.
- Add cumin seeds, curry leaves, red chillies, onion, garlic and tomatoes.
- Fry for a few seconds, add rice, dal, vegetables, turmeric chilli powder, salt and 5.5 cups of water.
- Adjust salt and chilli powder.
- Pressure cook for 4 whistles.
- Serve hot.
