Ingredients:

• 4 – medium Green chillies
• 1 inch – Ginger
• 4 flakes – Garlic
• Salt – to taste
• 1 tsp – Vinegar
• 1 tsp – Garam Masala
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – pepper powder
• 500 gms – Beef (washed and cut in cubes)
• Oil – 2 tbsp
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 3 – Onion Leeks
• 2 twigs – Curry leaves
• 1/2 cup – Coconut (grated)
• 1 tbsp – coriander powder
• 1 tsp – chilli powder

Method:

  1. Grind green chillies, ginger and garlic into a fine paste.
  2. Add salt, vinegar, turmeric powder, garam masala and pepper powder to this paste and mix well.
  3. Marinate beef with the above spice paste and keep aside for about half an hour.
  4. In a closed pan cook the meat adding little water.
  5. Cook till the water is almost dried up and the meat is tender. Remove from heat.
  6. Heat oil in another pan and splutter mustard seeds. Add onion leeks, curry leaves and saute for about 3 minutes.
  7. Add scraped coconut, coriander powder and chilli powder and saute for another 2 minutes.
  8. Add the cooked beef and fry well, stirring occasionally. Serve with hot rice or chapattis.
