Ingredients:

• Karela – 1 (large) piece
• Drumsticks – 3 long pieces
• Parval – 4
• Potato – 1 (large)piece
• French beans – 1/2 cup, chopped
• Brinjal – 1 (small) piece
• Raw banana (optional) – 1 piece
• Sesame seeds- 1 tsp
• Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
• Dry mirchi – 2
• Sugar – 1 tsp
• Milk – 2 tsp
• Paanch phoran – 1/2 tsp
• Ghee – 2 tsp
• Paste of Mustard Seeds powder – 1 tbsp
• Salt to taste.

Method:

  1. Chop all the vegetables, except karela, into medium pieces. Cut the karela into rings.
  2. Heat 2-3 tbsp oil in a pan and deep-fry the karela pieces. Keep aside.
  3. Now, heat some more oil in the pan and splutter the panch phoran, mustard seeds, dry mirch.
  4. Add all the vegetables, except the fried karela, and saute for 5-7 mins.
  5. Add salt and sugar and pour enough water to cover the vegetables.
  6. Cover the pan and cook until tender.
  7. Add the fried karela pieces, milk and mustard seeds paste.
  8. Let it cook for 2-3 mins and add ghee.
  9. Stir well and serve hot with rice.
