Ingredients:

• 1/4 cup – grated Coconut
• 1 tbsp – coriander
• 8 to 10 – Black Peppercorns
• 1/2 tbsp – Cumin seeds
• 1 tsp – Methi seeds
• 4 to 5 dry Red Chillies
• 1/4 tsp – Asafoetida
• 2 stalks – Curry leaves
• 5 Cloves
• 1 inch stick – Cinnamon
• 5 – Cardamoms
• 1/2 tbsp – Ghee for roasting

Method:

  1. Mix all the ingredients.
  2. Heat ghee, add all the ingredients and roast on low flame till crisp and golden. It should give off a strong spicy aroma. Cool.
  3. Pound to a coarse powder, either using a mortar and pestle or dry grind in a mixie.
  4. Use as required.
