Ingredients:

• 1/2 kg – Bitter gourd
• 4 tbsp – sesame oil
• 1 tbsp – chilli powder
• 2 tbsp – coriander powder
• salt to taste
• a pinch – Asafoetida
• 1 tsp – mustard
• small quantity – Turmeric

Method:

  1. Wash and cut bitter gourd after removing all the seeds.
  2. Boil it for 10 minutes (either in pressure cooker or microwave oven).
  3. Heat oil in a pan/kadai and splutter mustard.
  4. Then add asafoetida and bitter gourd.
  5. Add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste.
  6. Fry it for some 20 minutes.
