Ingredients:

• 100g – Brinjal
• 2 tbsp – oil
• 1 pinch – Hing
• 1 tbsp – mustard
• Curry leaves
• Coriander leaves
• 1 pinch – Turmeric powder
• 2 – Tomato
• Salt to taste
• For frying:
• 2 tsp Dhania
• 1 tsp Bengal Gram dal
• 5 Red Chillies
• 2 tsp Coconut
• A little Ginger

Method:

  1. Wash and cut brinjal into long thin slices.
  2. Heat oil in a kadai. Add the mustard, hing and curry leaves.
  3. Add the brinjal, cook till they are soft.
  4. Add the tomato, turmeric powder, and salt
  5. Boil the tur dal
  6. Fry the dhania, Bengal gram, red chillies, coconut and ginger in 1/2 tsp oil. Grind them in the mixer.
  7. Add this ground mixture and boiled dal to the cooked brinjal, add water.
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  9. Serve it with hot rice.
