
Ingredients:
• 1 cup – Chana dal, washed and soaked for 1 hour
• 1/2 cup – grated Coconut
• 1 tbsp – Lemon juice
• 2 tbsp – oil
• 2 – green chillies, slit
• 4-5 – Curry leaves
• 1 tsp – mustard
• 1/2 tsp – Hing powder
• 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
• salt to taste
Method:
- Cook chana dal in 1.5 cups of water with salt, or pressure cook till tender. Drain the water and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When they splutter, add curry leaves and the green chillies.
- Add hing powder and turmeric.
- Add the chana dal and the coconut.
- Cook for 3 minutes and remove from fire.
- Add the lemon juice.
- Serve hot with chapatis or simply have it as a snack.
