Ingredients:
• 10 cooking apples – hollowed, peeled and thinly sliced
• 1/2 cup – Brown sugar
• 2 tbsp – rum
• 2 tbsp – Honey
• 1 tbsp – Cinnamon
• 1/2 cup – granola
• 1/2 cup – graham crackers
• 1 tbsp – Sugar
• 2 tbsp – melted Butter
Method:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degree F.
- Place the apples, brown sugar, rum, honey, and the cinnamon in a large saucepan.
- Cover and cook over medium heat for 30 mins.
- Stir from time to time.
- Remove the cover and continue the cooking process for 10 mins.
- Once the apples are cooked, remove the saucepan from heat.
- Transfer the mixture to a buttered gratin dish. Set aside.
- Place the granola, the graham crackers, the sugar and the butter in a mixing bowl.
- Spread this mixture over the apples.
- Place the apple compote in the oven at broil for 7 to 8 mins.
- Serve with fresh cream.
