Ingredients:

• 6 slices of bread
• 1 Onion
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric
• 1/2 tsp – amchur
• 1/2 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1/4 tsp – Asafoetida
• 1 tsp – ground Ginger
• Salt to taste
• 3/4 cup – Chana dal
• 1 Green chilli
• 1/2 tsp – chilli powder
• 1/2 cup – Coriander leaves (cleaned and chopped)
• A pinch of soda bicarbonate
• Oil for frying

Method:

  1. Soak dal for 3 hours and grind finely with green chilli, turmeric, cumin seeds, chilli powder, amchur, asafoetida, ginger, and salt.
  2. Add very finely chopped onion, coriander leaves, and soda bicarb.
  3. Mix well and put a thin layer of the mixture over each slice of bread.
  4. Fry till golden brown and puffy.
  5. Serve with ketchup or any chutney.
