Ingredients:
• 6 slices of bread
• 1 Onion
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric
• 1/2 tsp – amchur
• 1/2 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1/4 tsp – Asafoetida
• 1 tsp – ground Ginger
• Salt to taste
• 3/4 cup – Chana dal
• 1 Green chilli
• 1/2 tsp – chilli powder
• 1/2 cup – Coriander leaves (cleaned and chopped)
• A pinch of soda bicarbonate
• Oil for frying
Method:
- Soak dal for 3 hours and grind finely with green chilli, turmeric, cumin seeds, chilli powder, amchur, asafoetida, ginger, and salt.
- Add very finely chopped onion, coriander leaves, and soda bicarb.
- Mix well and put a thin layer of the mixture over each slice of bread.
- Fry till golden brown and puffy.
- Serve with ketchup or any chutney.
