Ingredients:
• For Cover:
• 5 – potatoes, boiled and mashed
• 6 – bread slice
• 1/2 tsp – black pepper
• 1 tsp – chat masala
• Salt – to taste
• For Filling:
• 100 g – Channa dal
• 1 – onion, finely chopped
• 3 tbsp – green coriander, finely chopped
• 2 – green chillies, finely chopped
• 1 tsp – cumin
• 1/2 tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – Garam Masala powder
• 1 tsp – chat masala powder
• Salt – to taste
• Oil – 2 tbsp
Method:
- For cover:
- Take mashed potatoes in a bowl.
- Soak bread slices in little water, squeeze out extra water, mix it in potatoes and add salt and chat masala.
- Keep it aside.
- For Filling:
- Wash dal and pressure cook with little water and salt, it should not get mashed.
- Take 1 tbsp oil in pan, put jeera, onions cook it a little, add dal and other spices, mix it thoroughly, switch off gas and let it cool.
- For Tikka:
- Make small rounds of batter, fill each round with one tsp of filling, and flatten it lightly
- Take large tawa or pan, keep it on medium heat, spread little oil on it and put 2-4 tikias at a time, brown it on both sides
- Serve hot with green chutney.
