
Ingredients:
• 3 1/3 cups – plain flour
• 1 tbsp – Yeast
• 1/4 cup – Sugar
• 1 cup – warm Milk
• 3 tbsp – melted Butter
• 2 eggs
• 3 to 4 tbsp – extra melted Butter for baking
• 3 tbsp – Milk
• 1 Egg yolk for the Egg wash
• cheese slices, cheese cut into squares
• 1 tbsp – sesame seeds
Method:
- Place the flour in a bowl.
- Mix the yeast and sugar, then sprinkle over the warm milk and let it stand for 10 minutes.
- When it becomes frothy, add the milk mixture to the flour,
- Add the eggs and three tbsp melted butter and mix thoroughly.
- Knead this mixture for 10-15 minutes till well incorporated.
- Place the dough in a bowl, cover and keep till it doubles in size (i.e. 30 minutes or more).
- Place the dough on a working board, knead for five minutes then roll out into a large square,
- Then further cut into 1×1 cm squares.
- Stuff the 1×1 small squares with a cube or spoonful of cheese, seal and form round buns.
- In an oven proof dish (Pyrex), place the remaining melted butter and place the buns side by side without leaving space between them.
- Finally brush with the egg wash (milk + egg yolk mixture) and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Let it stand for 10 minutes, then bake in a preheated oven of 400 F for 20 minutes or till golden and done.
- Serve with Tea or as a snack.
