
Ingredients:
• 1 kg – chicken, cleaned and drained
• 2 kg – basmati rice, washed and soaked for 30 to 60 minutes
• 2 tbsp – Khus Khus seeds, roasted
• 5-6 – Green chillies
• 1 bunch – coriander leaves, big and finely chopped
• 1 bunch – Mint leaves, big and finely chopped
• 3 tbsp – ginger-garlic paste
• juice of 3-4 limes
• 1 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – garam-masala powder
• 2 tbsp – Red Chilli powder
• salt to taste
• 500 g – yogurt/curd
Method:
- Grind the green chillies and khus khus together into a fine paste.
- In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients, except the rice, with the chicken and marinate for 2 hours.
- In a vessel, add water, salt, whole garam masala (cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, shahjeera ) and oil and bring to boil.
- Add the soaked rice and semi-cook immediately.
- Drain and add to the chicken mixture and cook in a pressure cooker until done.
- Serve with dalcha or raitha.
