
Ingredients:
• 8 idlis
• Tomato – 3
• Onion – 1
• Capsicum – 1
• Chilli powder – 2 tsp
• Garam Masala powder – 2 tsp
• Turmeric powder – 1 pinch
• Rice flour – 2 tbsp
• Maida /all-purpose flour – 2 tbsp
• Salt – to taste
• Coriander leaves
• Curry leaves (optional)
• Red food color (optional) – 1 pinch
• Oil – 2 tbsp
Method:
- Grind tomato with chilli powder and turmeric powder.
- In the ground paste, add salt, garam masala, red food colour, maida and rice flour and mix well.
- The batter should be of bajji batter consistency.
- Cut idlis into 4 pieces.
- In a wide pan, heat oil and fry onions and capsicum with salt and keep them separately.
- Dip the idli pieces in the batter, and in the same pan, heat oil and shallow fry the idlis.
- Fry for 4 minutes till it becomes crisp and season with finely cut coriander leaves, curry leaves and fried onion mixture.
