Ingredients:
• 3 tbsp – cocoa
• 1/4 cup – hot water
• 4 tbsp – Butter
• 1.5 cup – Maida
• 1.5 tsp – baking powder
• a pinch of salt
• 1/2 cup – powdered Sugar
• 1/2 cup – Milk
• 1 cup – chopped Dates
• 1/2 cup – chopped Walnuts
• 1 – Egg
Method:
- Stir the cocoa in hot water and mix until smooth. Add butter and mix until the butter melts.
- Sift the maida with baking powder and salt.
- Add the cocoa mixture, beaten egg and milk. Beat with a wooden spoon until smooth.
- Mix in the dates. Pour in a greased loaf tin.
- Sprinkle walnuts on top and bake in an oven at 180 degrees C or until done (about 45-50 minutes).
