
Ingredients:
• 200 g – tender Drumstick leaves
• 100 g – tur dal
• 1 onion, medium, cut into small pieces
• 3 green chilli, cut into small pieces
• 4 Red Chilli
• 1 tbsp – til
• 1 tsp – Dhania seeds
• 1/2 tsp – Jeera
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 10 Curry leaves
• 6 Garlic cloves, crushed
• 1 tbsp – dry Coconut powder
• 1/8 tsp – Turmeric
• salt
• 1 tbsp – oil
Method:
- Dry fry the red chillies, til, jeera, coconut powder each separately
- Make a coarse powder, keep aside
- Boil drumstick leaves with some salt and turmeric
- Drain, squeeze out the water if necessary (do not mash).
- Cook tur dal till it is soft but not mashed
- Combine leaves and dal gently, keep aside.
- Heat oil, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, crushed garlic
- Fry till the seeds splutter
- Add onion, green chilli and fry for 2 mins till the onion changes colour
- Add boiled leaves and dal
- Mix salt, stir well, and cook covered for 2 mins
- Remove lid and sprinkle the masala powder
- Mix well and remove.
