Ingredients:

• 2 cups – white chick peas (chole), boiled and drained
• 1 – onion, medium sized, chopped
• 3-4 – green chillies, chopped
• 2 stalks – Curry leaves
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 2 tsp – Urad Dal
• 2 – dry Red Chillies (optional)
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• salt to taste
• a few coriander leaves, chopped
• 2 tbsp – oil

Method:

  1. Heat oil in a kadhai and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and urad dal.
  2. When they splutter, add dry red chillies, green chillies and curry leaves. Stir for 15 seconds.
  3. Add turmeric powder and onions and saute until the onions are translucent.
  4. Add the boiled chole and stir well.
  5. Cook for 3-4 minutes on medium flame, stirring every 2 minutes.
  6. Add salt and mix well and cook for 2 more minutes.
  7. Remove and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with puris or rotis.
