Ingredients:
• 1 – Onion (medium size)
• 3 – Tomatoes (big)
• 1 tbsp – sesame seeds
• 4 – Green chillies
• 1 tsp – Urad Dal – 1tsp
• 4-5 – Curry leaves
• 1tsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1 pinch – Asafoetida
• salt according to taste
• 3 tbsp – oil
• 1 handful – Cilantro
Method:
- Dry-roast the sesame seeds for a minute.
- Heat oil in a pan, add asafoetida, mustard seeds and curry leaves.
- Once mustard seeds start to crackle, add urad dal and chopped green chillies.
- Next add chopped onions, tomatoes and continue to fry.
- Add chilli powder and salt before the tomatoes turn mushy.
- Once the tomatoes turn mushy, set aside and allow the mixture to cool.
- Finally, grind the above mixture along with roasted sesame seeds and cilantro. It goes well with idli, dosa, methi/paneer-parantha.
