Ingredients:
• 2 cup – all purpose flour
• 1 cup – powdered Sugar
• 1/2 cup – Butter
• 2 tbsp – baking powder
• 3 tbsp – Milk powder
• 15 – almonds, slit in halves, skin removed
• 4 tsp – Almond essence
Method:
- Heat the oven to 350 Fahrenheit.
- Lightly coat a large baking tray with butter and dust with all-purpose flour and set aside
- Sift the flour, baking powder, and milk powder in a mixing bowl.
- Beat the butter and sugar in a separate bowl till light and fluffy
- Fold in the flour mixture into this and whisk again, in the same direction until it is smooth.
- Add the almond or vanilla essence.
- Now take some oil and grease your palms.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal portions, then flatten the dough and form a circular shapes
- Press the edges to form a smooth cookie.
- Tuck a sliver of almond into the centre of the cookie.
- Lay out each of the cookies on the tray at least 1-2 inches apart.
- Bake them for 10-15 mins, or until done.
