Ingredients:
• 1 – surmai, Pomfret or mullet fish
• 5 – dry Red Chillies
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1 inch – Turmeric
• 3 – Green chillies
• 2 – Onions
• 1 – Ginger
• 4 Cloves – Garlic
• 2 tbsps – Vinegar
• 2 tbsp – Ghee or cooking oil
• 1/2 – Onion
• 1 tbsp – Sugar
• Salt to taste
• 4 – boiled Potatoes
• 6 tbsp – cooking oil
Method:
- Wash and cut the fish. Apply salt and turmeric powder and keep aside for 15 minutes.
- In a frying pan, heat oil and fry the fish.
- Cut the boiled potatoes into pieces and keep aside.
- Grind dry red chillies, cumin seeds, turmeric, green chillies with a little vinegar.
- In a pot, heat ghee and saute the sliced onions.
- Add the ground masala and stir well.
- Add 2 cups of water, salt, sugar and vinegar to the mixture and boil.
- When the curry is boiling, add the fried fish and let it cook for five more minutes. Add the boiled potatoes.
