Ingredients:

• 1 – surmai, Pomfret or mullet fish
• 5 – dry Red Chillies
• 1 tsp – Cumin seeds
• 1 inch – Turmeric
• 3 – Green chillies
• 2 – Onions
• 1 – Ginger
• 4 Cloves – Garlic
• 2 tbsps – Vinegar
• 2 tbsp – Ghee or cooking oil
• 1/2 – Onion
• 1 tbsp – Sugar
• Salt to taste
• 4 – boiled Potatoes
• 6 tbsp – cooking oil

Method:

  1. Wash and cut the fish. Apply salt and turmeric powder and keep aside for 15 minutes.
  2. In a frying pan, heat oil and fry the fish.
  3. Cut the boiled potatoes into pieces and keep aside.
  4. Grind dry red chillies, cumin seeds, turmeric, green chillies with a little vinegar.
  5. In a pot, heat ghee and saute the sliced onions.
  6. Add the ground masala and stir well.
  7. Add 2 cups of water, salt, sugar and vinegar to the mixture and boil.
  8. When the curry is boiling, add the fried fish and let it cook for five more minutes. Add the boiled potatoes.
