Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup – Garlic
• 1 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• 1 – Red Chillies
• 1 small sized ball – Tamarind
• 1.5 tsp – powdered Jaggery
• 1 tbsp – oil

Method:

  1. Peel the garlic and grind it with red chillies to a coarse paste and keep aside.
  2. Add tamarind to 1/4 cup water and extract thick pulp from it and keep aside.
  3. Heat oil, add mustard seeds and allow it to crackle.
  4. Then add the garlic paste and saute till raw smell disappears and it starts turning light brown.
  5. Now add tamarind pulp, powdered jaggery and mix well.
  6. Keep sauteing till the mixture turns brown in colour.
  7. Store in an airtight container.
