Ingredients:

• For covering:
• 1.5 cups – plain flour
• 1.5 tbsp – Ghee
• 2 pinches – salt
• For filling:
• 1/2 cup – desiccated Coconut
• 1/2 cup – finely crushed Almonds
• 1/4 cup – Milk powder
• 1 tbsp -couscous seeds
• 1/2 tsp – Cardamom powder
• 3/4 cup – Sugar powdered
• Other ingredients:
• Ghee or oil to deep fry

Method:

  1. For covering: Sift flour and salt, rub in ghee till mixture is crumbly.
  2. Add enough water to make a smooth dough.
  3. It should be pliable, and knead on stone or marble for 4-5 mins.
  4. Cover, keep aside for 10-15 mins.
  5. For filling:
  6. Dry roast milk powder in a pan for a minute.
  7. Spread out in a plate and cool completely.
  8. Add all other filling ingredients and mix well. Keep aside.
  9. Take a small lump of dough. Roll into a 3-inch circle, place a tsp of filling in centre.
  10. Fold over filling to create a drop-like shape.
  11. Press point firmly to seal in mixture.
  12. Repeat with rest of dough and deep fry in hot ghee on low flame till golden and crisp.
  13. Serve hot or cool.
