Ingredients:
• For covering:
• 1.5 cups – plain flour
• 1.5 tbsp – Ghee
• 2 pinches – salt
• For filling:
• 1/2 cup – desiccated Coconut
• 1/2 cup – finely crushed Almonds
• 1/4 cup – Milk powder
• 1 tbsp -couscous seeds
• 1/2 tsp – Cardamom powder
• 3/4 cup – Sugar powdered
• Other ingredients:
• Ghee or oil to deep fry
Method:
- For covering: Sift flour and salt, rub in ghee till mixture is crumbly.
- Add enough water to make a smooth dough.
- It should be pliable, and knead on stone or marble for 4-5 mins.
- Cover, keep aside for 10-15 mins.
- For filling:
- Dry roast milk powder in a pan for a minute.
- Spread out in a plate and cool completely.
- Add all other filling ingredients and mix well. Keep aside.
- Take a small lump of dough. Roll into a 3-inch circle, place a tsp of filling in centre.
- Fold over filling to create a drop-like shape.
- Press point firmly to seal in mixture.
- Repeat with rest of dough and deep fry in hot ghee on low flame till golden and crisp.
- Serve hot or cool.
