Ingredients:
• 100 g – Poppy Seeds
• 8 tbsp – Sugar
• 8 tbsp – Ghee
• ½ liter – Milk
• 8 to 9 green Cardamoms (powdered)
• 15 Almonds (finely sliced)
Method:
- Soak the poppy seeds in water overnight.
- Wash in such a way that any residual mud is deposited at the bottom.
- Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed vessel.
- Add the poppy seeds and fry, stirring continuously on a low flame till it turns deep golden brown.
- Immediately add the milk and powdered cardamoms. Keep stirring.
- When the milk dries up add sugar and saute on a slow flame for 10 more minutes taking care that it does not stick bottom of the vessel.
- Place the vessel on a preheated tawa and let it simmer for few minutes.
- Serve hot, garnished with sliced almonds.
