Ingredients:

• 1/2 kg – King Fish sliced
• 5 – small Onions
• 2 tbsp – Red Chilli powder
• 1 pinch – Turmeric powder
• 1 tbsp – salt
• 2 cups – Coconut (grated)
• 2 tbsp – Coconut oil
• 1 tbsp – oil
• 1/2 cup – Tamarind juice
• Few Curry leaves

Method:

  1. Wash the fish pieces thoroughly and drain.
  2. Add 1 tbsp of red chilli powder, turmeric and salt and rub well into the fish slices.
  3. Marinate for 15 mins.
  4. Now grind the coconut with water, a little turmeric and the remaining chilli powder into a paste.
  5. Add this to the fish and mix.
  6. Heat a pan with tamarind water, add a few curry leaves followed by the fish.
  7. Let it boil for around 20 mins till the fish is cooked completely.
  8. Pour 1 tbsp of coconut oil on top.
  9. In a separate fry onions till golden brown.
  10. Pour onions over the fish and serve hot with rice.
