Ingredients:
• 500 g – gulab jamun mawa
• 150 g – Rawa (semolina)
• 15 tbsp – Milk
• oil for deep frying
• For the Syrup:
• 5 cups – Sugar
• 10 to 12 green Cardamoms ( peeled and powdered)
• 6 cups – water
• 1 tbsp – Milk
Method:
- Soak the rawa in milk for about 20 minutes.
- Add this to the mawa and knead well gently for 10 to 15 minutes till you get a soft dough.
- Divide into equal portions. Shape each portion into small circular or oval shaped gulab jamuns.
- Deep fry in a little hot oil but on a very low flame, till they turn golden.
- Put the fried gulab jamuns after few seconds into already prepared hot syrup.
- Let them soak in hot syrup for couple of hours.
- Serve hot or cold.
- For the Syrup:
- Boil the water with sugar. Add a tbsp of milk.
- Spoon off the dirt that collects on the top.
- Add powdered cardamoms and boil the syrup till you get one thread consistency.
