Ingredients:

• Moong dal – 1/2 kg
• Green chillies – 5 or 6
• 1/2 bunch – coriander
• Curry leaves
• 1 tbsp – Cumin seeds
• Salt
• 2 – finely chopped Onions
• Vegetable oil
• Ginger – 2 inch piece

Method:

  1. Soak the moong dal in water for about 4 to 5 hours.
  2. Drain the water from the dal and add ginger, coriander, curry leaves, cumin seeds and salt.
  3. Make a batter of these ingredients, but let it be coarse and not fine.
  4. Heat the tava and spread the batter on it, just as would for a dosa.
  5. Sprinkle a few drops of oil over it and sprinkle the chopped onions.
  6. After it turns golden brown, remove from the tava and serve hot.
  7. Repeat.
