
Ingredients:
• 1 cup – masoor dal (red dal)
• 2 – Tomatoes
• 1 tsp – chilli powder
• 1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder
• 1 tsp – cumin powder
• salt to taste
• 1 tbsp – oil
• 1 – onion, chopped
• few Curry leaves
• 1 tsp – Ghee
• 1/2 tsp – Mustard Seeds
• ½ tsp – Cumin seeds
Method:
- Cook the masoor dal along with the chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder and 2 or 3 cups of water till it becomes soft.
- Add salt and mix well.
- Remove it from heat.
- Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard, and curry leaves.
- When the mustard begins to crackle add the onions and cumin seeds and saute till it turns brown.
- Turn off the heat.
- Now add the cooked dal and a tsp of ghee and mix well.
- Serve with steamed rice and any side dish.
