Ingredients:

• 300 g – Meat either Beef or Mutton cut into small pieces
• 3 – Onions chopped
• 2 tsp – chopped Mint
• 1 tsp – pepper powder
• Salt to taste
• 2 tbsp – Tomato sauce
• 1 tsp – Butter
• 1 Egg beaten
• Yolk of one Egg
• 3 tbsp – oil
• 3 tbsp – bread crumbs

Method:

  1. Wash the meat and cook in a little water with some salt till soft.
  2. Remove from the heat and cool.
  3. When the meat is cold, shred into very small flakes.
  4. Mix in the chopped onions, mint, pepper, salt, sauce, butter and the egg yolk.
  5. Form into oval shapes and flatten with a knife.
  6. Heat the oil in a flat pan.
  7. Dip each croquette in the beaten egg, roll in bread crumbs then shallow fry on both sides till brown.
  8. Drain and serve with mashed potatoes.
